THIS EVENT SOUNDS AWESOME!

WHAT IS IT?

A:

2020 marks the third annual Auburn Chili Cook-Off benefiting Storybook Farm and will be hosted February 29, 2020 at the Lowder Barn at Ag Heritage Park from 11:00-2:00 PM. Guests will have a fun day of sampling chili while sponsors will have a fun day competing and team building!

WHAT IS STORYBOOK FARM?

A:

Storybook Farm exists to bridge the gap between hope and hardship. We empower children ages two to young adulthood through equine-assisted activities, canine companionship and exploration in nature. Storybook Farm is located in Opelika, AL.

WHERE CAN I

BUY TICKETS?

A:

Advanced Event Tickets: $10 online

Day-of Event Tickets: $15 at entrance

Kids under 12: FREE!

 

VIP Tickets: $75 online or Day-of Event

I’M REALLY NOT INTO CHILI ...WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO?

A:

What’s there not to do?? Chili, LIVE Music, Adult Beverages, Food Trucks, Aubie, Bounce House. i.e. everything but the kitchen sink!

FOR THE COOKS

WHAT TIME IS SET UP?

A:

Setup begins at 7:30 AM. Give yourself enough time to prepare the chili on-site. Awards will be

presented at 1:30-2:00 PM. Please be set-up and ready to serve by 10:30 AM.

HOW DO I SERVE THE CHILI?

A:

Two-person cook-teams are asked to provide small chili samples for event goers (the committee will provide cups and spoons for sampling). 

Each team will provide a samples for the judges to taste.

QU:

HOW MUCH CHILI SHOULD I COOK?

A:

We recommend that each 2 person cook-team prepare 5-7 gallons of chili. Event goers will be sampling chili at each tent.

QU:

ARE TENTS PROVIDED?

A:

Tents will be provided to Cayenne andJalapeno sponsors, if needed. Or branded company tents can be used. We encourage you to bring tent decorations!

QU:

IS POWER PROVIDED?

A:

Power is provided to Habanero and Cayenne Sponsors. Jalapeno Sponsors can rent a generator for $50. Based on healthcode regulations, chili must be prepared on-site. Sponsors bring gas sternos and hot plates to keep chili hot.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING?

A:

We will provide teams with all the information

you need to know after you sign up.

QU:

HOW ARE THE WINNERS SELECTED?

A:

There will be a Chili Cook-Off Champion Award and a Peoples Choice Award. The Champion award will be selected by our panel judges including local chefs and local celebrities. The Peoples Choice will be awarded to the team that receives the most votes from the people.
